Sepoc is embarking on yet another exciting and ambitious national project under Energy efficiency initiatives. The purpose of the project is to relieve the national grid of the energy required for the street lighting network in 20 municipalities and small towns in Zimbabwe. This will be achieved through the use of solar powered lights.
Sepoc intends to enter into Energy Performance Contracts with the municipalities, where the later pays for our services from the energy cost savings accrued from this project. This allows the municipalities to implement improvements without incurring any upfront costs.
National Savings of up to 60 GWh of electricity as well as reductions of about 42,680 tCO2e greenhouse gas emissions from the electricity grid per year are expected.
